The #1 Song on December 30th, 1987 was “Faith” by George Michael.
“Faith” came from Michael’s first solo album of the same name and was his second single as a solo artist.
Michael changed his appearance and image with this video in an attempt to appeal more to an adult audience after his time with Wham!.
However, in 1990, just a few years later Michael denounced this “new image” in his music video for “Freedom 90‘”.
“Faith” was one of the first songs ever to be a digital recording and was actually put together piece by piece. Also even though George Michael is seen playing the guitar in the music video, Michael completely faked it. It was another attempt at giving him more of an edgier look.
George Michael did not know how to play guitar.
