For workouts under an hour, a ketchup packet might offer a carb boost. However, it’s recommended that athletes receive 30 to 60 grams of carbs per hour if they’re engaging in longer workouts. One packet of ketchup contains 2.6 grams of carbs. Energy gels have around 25.
