Today’s “In the Know with Gino“, this evening marks the commencement of Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights, and the vibrant city is all set to kick off the celebrations in style. The highlight of the festivities is the annual Chanukah on Ice event, taking place on Sunday, December 10th, at the enchanting First Horizon Pavilion.
The festivities kick off with a spirited parade at 5:00 PM, leading attendees to the Ice on the Landing outdoor rink at the First Horizon Pavilion, located at 1826 Reggie White Blvd. As the clock strikes 5:30 PM, the ice rink will come alive with the joyous celebration of Chanukah on Ice. Families and friends are encouraged to join in the merriment, gliding on the ice under the glittering lights.
The climax of the evening unfolds at 6:00 PM with the spectacular lighting of a Giant Ice Menorah, casting a radiant glow over the festivities. This symbolic ceremony will be graced by Rabbi Pearlstein and esteemed elected officials, who will share brief remarks, adding a touch of spirituality to the occasion.
The event is not only a visual feast but also a treat for the taste buds. Attendees can indulge in traditional kosher Hanukkah refreshments, including jelly donuts, latkes, and applesauce, making it a true feast for the senses. The celebration is open to all, fostering a spirit of inclusivity and community.
The event is entirely FREE to attend, allowing everyone to partake in the festivities. The Ice on the Landing rink will resume regular business after the conclusion of the ceremony, ensuring that the joyous atmosphere extends well into the night.
