Think back to 2023.  If you had to put the over-under on the number of times that you got a “perfect” night of sleep, what would you say?

According to new research, the average American gets a “perfect” night’s sleep 132 times per year.  And we get a “good” night’s sleep 120 nights a year.

That leaves 113 nights, which are either “bad” sleep or where you don’t get any sleep at all.  (It’s unclear how many people in the study had kids under two.)

That breaks down like this:  36% perfect sleeps . . . 33% good sleeps . . . and 31% bad sleeps.  But those bad sleeps can be disruptive.  65% of people say that a bad night’s sleep is enough to ruin the whole next day.

Stress and anxiety about health and upcoming tasks are the main reasons that people think they’re struggling to sleep.  People also try things like reading, warm milk, CBD, and melatonin to get some Zs . . . but only 28% of people say they have a solution that’s “very effective.”
