Usher Had To Outbid Another Pop Star To Sign Justin Bieber

It was Usher who brought Justin Bieber to the masses, for better or worse.  But that was almost someone else’s cross to bear.

Usher actually engaged in a BIDDING WAR with Justin Timberlake to sign Bieber and his manager Scooter Braun.

Usher says he told Braun, quote, “I’ll give you every bit of wisdom that I have and grow you and support you in whatever you’re trying to accomplish as a businessman.”

He also had a unique selling point, telling Braun, quote, “If you want to go with Justin, that’s Justin and Justin.  Me, it’s only one Justin.”

I guess we can call that the “Highlander” pitch, right?  You know:  There can be only one!
