6 Minutes of Stardom: Ky Rodgers

This week’s featured local artist for 6 Minutes of Stardom with Gino D is Ky Rodgers.

Ky is from Ringgold, Georgia situated just south of Chattanooga. His musical journey began amidst personal challenges and a familial connection to music. Raised by a mother who worked tirelessly and stepfather, Wesley Crider, a renowned guitarist, Ky found solace and inspiration in his surroundings.

Despite the adversities he faced, Ky’s passion for music was unwavering. Growing up surrounded by instruments and recording equipment, he immersed himself in the art form from a young age.

Ky says his music resonates with the underdogs and those who have faced adversity, embodying resilience and perseverance.

While not currently booking shows, Ky’s live performances are characterized by sincerity and a connection with his audience. He hopes to inspire and uplift through his music, aiming to touch hearts and serve as a beacon of hope.

Looking ahead, Ky’s aspirations include hitting the road again and further honing his unique sound.

The track that Ky wanted to play for the radio was “Need Somebody,” a poignant reflection on Ky’s personal struggles and the feeling of being undervalued. Born out of a tumultuous period in his life, the song encapsulates his determination to rise above challenges and emerge stronger.
