In The Know with Gino…

Chattanooga’s Humane Educational Society (HES) is excited to unveil the Animal Hero Summer Camp, an innovative program tailored for children entering grades 2 through 5. This camp promises to immerse young participants in the fascinating world of animals through an array of interactive and educational activities.

The Animal Hero Summer Camp, generously sponsored by Southern Adventist University, aims to teach children about animal care, advocacy, and the significance of responsible pet ownership. By fostering a profound connection with animals, campers will gain a better understanding of their needs and how to care for them.

The camp is scheduled in two sessions: the first from July 22nd to July 26th for children entering grades 2 and 3, and the second from July 29th to August 2nd for those entering grades 4 and 5. Each session promises a unique and enriching experience for young animal lovers.

Throughout the week, campers will engage in animal-themed crafts, interactive games, and special animal interactions. They will have the chance to meet shelter pets and learn about their individual needs, providing them with valuable insights into the shelter’s mission and how they can contribute to animal welfare.

The camp will take place at the Humane Educational Society’s facility located at 4155 Randolph Circle in Chattanooga. The cost is $200 per child, covering all materials and activities. With limited spots available, interested families are encouraged to register by July 12, 2024.
