The Celebrity Beat…
Beyoncé’s appearance at Kamala Harris’ campaign event in Houston on Friday night was heavily promoted in advance. But did it turn out to be a RIP-OFF???
The campaign never said Beyoncé would perform, but plenty of people assumed she would and rumors were swirling. Whether they were there for Beyoncé or not, a crowd of 30,000 people showed up.
And Beyoncé DIDN’T perform. She just delivered a speech. But the audience did get a performance from Willie Nelson. So were the attendees ripped off??? Some people think so.
One person Tweeted, quote, “So let me get this straight, Kamala Harris baited people with a free Beyoncé concert and then had Willie Nelson perform. Talk about a bunch of pissed-off concert-goers.”
Another said, quote, “She can’t even deliver on promises to her own followers with a Beyoncé performance, but yes she will totally close the border and stuff.”
To be fair, these commenters don’t sound like people who would attend a Harris rally. I would love to hear from people who actually went to the rally and feel disappointed or lied to. I mean, if nobody SAID Beyonce was gonna peform, then technically, no lies were told.
But did they commit a sin of omission by conveniently forgetting to specify that Beyoncé WOULDN’T be singing?
