The Celebrity Beat…

Katy Perry, Gayle King, and Jeff Bezos’ fiancé Lauren Sanchez successfully completed their space flight yesterday.

I’d call it a “mission“, but there really wasn’t much of a mission… unless you count rich people showing off as a mission.

It was an all-female flight that also included a filmmaker, a former NASA scientist, and a research scientist.

It was about 10 minutes long and they flew to an altitude of 62 miles, just above what’s called the Karman Line… which is the edge of the Earth’s atmosphere.

After touching back down, Katy said, quote, “I feel super-connected to love.”  She added that during the flight, she sang “What a Wonderful World” instead of one of her own songs.

Quote, “That is not about me.  It’s not about singing my songs.  It’s about a collective energy and a mirror.  It’s about us… This is all for the benefit of Earth.”

By the way… Katy also says she’s writing a song about her experience.

Oh, and Jeff Bezos face-planted while trying to greet the capsule when it returned.
