Food News!
If there’s one day to NOT give your pet an extra treat for being good, this is it…
Happy National Pet Obesity Awareness Day. A full THIRD of pet owners admit their cat or dog could stand to lose a little weight. And that’s just the self-reported stats.
33% of cat owners and 35% of dog owners say their pet is overweight or obese. But studies have found the real numbers might be more like 60%.
Obviously, we only have ourselves to blame. 54% of pet owners admit they usually give in when their pet begs for treats.
The easiest way to help them lose a few pounds is to just feed them less. Or, this might exist soon. Would you ever consider putting your pet on OZEMPIC?
Ozempic for pets… or “Petzempic“… hasn’t been approved by the FDA yet, but could be in the next few years.
35% of pet owners say they’d consider it. And vets were even more likely to say yes. 54% would prescribe it if it was proven to be safe and effective.
