Windsurfer Filmed Escaping From Great White Shark In Dramatic Video
Andy McDonald escaped uninjured after a great white shark attacked his hydrofoil board Monday near Margaret River, Western Australia. The incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. when the shark bit McDonald’s board and dragged him underwater. “At that point I thought, ‘This is it. This is my time up,'” the 61-year-old said. The shark became tangled in his leg strap, prompting him to fight back. “I was punching it and kicking it, and I think it was trying to do the same back to me because it was tangled up in my leg rope,” he said. McDonald climbed onto his inflatable sail after the shark broke free. Fellow surfers helped him paddle to shore on his damaged board, which had a large chunk bitten off. (Story URL)
