Man Uses Hundreds Of Drones Over Dallas Skyline For Elaborate Marriage Proposal

Travon Duncan, 28, proposed to influencer Erica McDowell, 27, using hundreds of drones spelling “Will You Marry Me?” across the Dallas airspace on November 1st. The cybersecurity engineer began planning in July and obtained city permits to block nearby streets since drones cannot fly over moving vehicles. “My mind was spinning. It felt like I was inside a dream, and my body literally went numb from the shock,” McDowell told PEOPLE. Duncan’s initial permit application was denied but later approved. McDowell had mentioned wanting a drone proposal in a video last year, which Duncan remembered. “The intention, love, and detail behind it is something you truly cannot put a price on,” Duncan said, calling it “a major investment” while keeping costs private.
