Idaho Runner Reclaims Record Running Half Marathon In 137 T-Shirts

David “Record Breaker” Rush completed the Famous Idaho Potato Half Marathon wearing 137 T-shirts, reclaiming his Guinness World Record title. The serial record-holder, who maintains the most concurrent Guinness World Records, originally set the mark at 111 shirts in 2019 before losing it to a competitor who wore 127. Rush’s first comeback attempt failed when he reached 114 T-shirts and lost neck circulation. He prepared for his successful run by training in heavy clothing and weighted backpacks. The 137 shirts weighed 48 pounds total. “After years of effort and one spectacular failed attempt, I finally reclaimed the Guinness World Records title so I’m so glad I didn’t give up,” Rush wrote. “It was a mix of determination, creativity, endurance and a lot of T-shirts.” (Story URL)
