In The Know with Gino…
SoundCorps, a nonprofit organization based in Chattanooga dedicated to fostering a vibrant local music scene, has introduced two new initiatives aimed at supporting regional musicians. These programs are designed to enhance opportunities for discovery, collaboration, and artistic development within the community.
The first initiative is a comprehensive Musician Directory. This FREE, professional online platform allows Chattanooga musicians to create profiles that highlight their work, skills, personality, and contact information. By registering, artists increase their visibility among potential collaborators, venues, clients, and industry partners. The directory serves as a valuable tool for musicians seeking new opportunities, including grants, paid performances, workshops, and other programs offered by SoundCorps.
The directory is now live at soundcorps.org/musician-directory
The second program is the Producer’s Fund Grant, launched this week. This monthly grant awards $500 to local musicians to help finance their creative projects. Funded through donations, the Producer’s Fund aims to strengthen Chattanooga’s music community by directly investing in artists and their work. The grant supports various needs, including project development, fair compensation for performances, and resources for professional growth. Applications are open from the 1st to the 15th of each month, with winners announced by the 25th. The program was developed in response to feedback from musicians, ensuring that the support provided addresses real community needs.
Both initiatives reflect SoundCorps’ commitment to nurturing local talent by providing essential tools and resources. They encourage musicians to connect, grow, and sustain their careers in Chattanooga’s thriving music landscape. Updates and announcements about these programs can be followed through SoundCorps’ website, social media channels, and newsletter.
