Olympic Update – 02/20/2026

Team USA picked up three more medals at the Winter Olympics yesterday. We were HOPING for a few golds. So, how’d we do?
Jordan Stolz was aiming for a third gold in men’s speed skating, but had to settle for silver in the 1,500-meter. He’s got one more chance at a medal in the mass start event tomorrow, where they all race together. (Full Story)
Meanwhile, the U.S. women’s hockey team took on Canada in the gold medal match and trailed for most of the game. But they tied it up 1-1 in the third, then WON IT in overtime. Canada took silver. Switzerland took bronze. (Full Story) It’s the third time the U.S. has won gold since women’s hockey was added in 1998. Canada won it the other five times.
And last but not least: American Alysa Liu came from behind to win gold in women’s figure skating. She’s the first American woman to win ANY individual figure skating medal in 20 years. The last gold was Sarah Hughes way back in 2002. (Full Story)
Heading into the final three days of the Olympics, Norway still leads with 37 medals, 17 of them gold. Team USA jumped up into second with 28 and 10 being gold.
