A New Artist Has 11 Songs in the iTunes Top 100… And He’s Not Even Real

An artist named Eddie Dalton has 11 songs on the iTunes Top 100, including two in the Top 10.  He also has the #3 album.  One of his songs, “Another Day Old“, has 1.4 million views on YouTube.

Not bad for a guy who doesn’t even exist.

Eddie Dalton is the creation of Dallas Little, and everything from the music to his look are A.I.-generated.

But don’t accuse Little of deceiving people or ripping them off.  He says, quote, “I don’t appreciate how my work has been characterized… Every social media video is clearly labeled as A.I.-generated, and many listeners are fully aware of that and enjoy the music for what it is.  All of the songs are written by me.”

So the question is… Are you for this? Against?  Don’t care?  People pooped on the electric guitar when it was new.  Is this just the latest evolution… or is it more sinister and damaging than that?  Discuss. But carefully.  Someone… or some-THING…is always listening.
