Food News!

Did you do any partying or celebrating over the weekend? If so, you may have contributed to your state’s BOOZE SPEND.

A recent report analyzed the states that spend the most on alcohol, and not surprisingly, Utah came in DEAD LAST due to the tight alcohol rules there.

On the flipside, Alaskans spend the most on alcohol.  Each adult drops an average of $1,250 per year on booze, which sounds like a lot.  But when you break it down, that’s “only” about $104 per month, or $24 per week.

Here’s the Top 10:

1.  Alaska … $1,250 per person, per year

2.  Wyoming …$1,238 per person.  Hmm.  Wyoming CONVENIENTLY borders Utah… near where Utah’s population is the densest.

3.  Colorado … $1,202

4.  Massachusetts … $1,186

5.  Rhode Island … $1,156

6.  New Hampshire … $1,120

7.  Oregon … $1,105

8.  Hawaii … $1,095

9.  Washington … $1,071

10.  Montana … $1,051.

Utah is 50th at $606 per person, per year.  West Virginia pays the second-least, possibly due to everyone just drinking their own moonshine.

Here’s the rest of the bottom 10:  48. Mississippi… 47. Oklahoma… 46. Tennessee… 45. Ohio… 44. Idaho… 43. Kentucky (yes, even with the bourbon industry)… 42. Indiana… and 41. Alabama.
