Jerry Green, widely recognized as the longest-serving school bus driver in the county, has been inducted into the Tennessee School Bus Driver Hall of Fame during a ceremony held in Pigeon Forge, hosted by the Tennessee Association for Pupil Transportation.

Green’s career spans half a century, during which he established a reputation for reliability, safety, and a friendly demeanor that made him a beloved figure among students and families. Known affectionately as “Mr. Fuzzy,” he owned and operated school buses in Hamilton County until he retired last year.

Hamilton County’s Director of Transportation, Brandon Allen, attended the induction ceremony and highlighted Green’s punctuality, noting that he was never late—often arriving early—and always maintained a clean bus, ensuring a positive experience for students.

Throughout his career, Green maintained an impeccable safety record, traveling over a million miles without any accidents, despite navigating challenging terrain and busy traffic conditions in Hamilton County. His commitment to safety and service exemplifies the qualities celebrated by the Hall of Fame.
