World Cup Coverage Is Getting Roasted for Adding Mountains to the Houston Skyline
It would be an UNBELIEVABLE SIGHT to see the beautiful Houston mountains. Unbelievable . . . because Houston is around 50 feet above sea level, and is among the flattest major metropolitan areas in the U.S.
The BBC hosted a World Cup studio show last week, shortly after a match at Houston Stadium. The show had an A.I.-generated image of Houston’s skyline in the background, which was mostly accurate . . . except one big thing:
The left side had rolling foothills and MOUNTAINS, which don’t exist in Houston.
Not surprisingly, it didn’t take long for the locals to notice . . . and it immediately went viral. Here are some of the best reactions:
1. “The Houston Mountains are actually gorgeous this time of year.”
2. “BBC added some much needed mountains to the Houston skyline. Not bad, not bad at all!”
3. “They should do this. Just build some mountains. Good for tourism.”
4. “I wonder if the weather is cooler in the Houston mountains?”
5. “How good is the skiing in Houston?”
6. “I tore my ACL skiing on that mountain back in the summer of 2020.”
7. “That’s the Heights.” Others referred to it as, “The Highlands.”
8. “I happen to have some prime real estate for sale in those Houston hills.”
9. “I’m pretty sure that’s the dump.”
10. And the Houston Rockets Tweeted, “Just another beautiful day in the Houston Alps.” And someone else joked, “Taking a walk on the west side of Houston today. The BBC was right. Truly God’s country.”
