The Best and Worst Places for Fourth of July Celebrations

If you wanted to celebrate FREEDOM, would you rather be in Vegas . . . or in the Texas suburbs?  And the answer is clear.  After all, it’s NOT “What happens in Texas, stays in Texas.”

Believe it or not, we’re about a week away from Independence Day, so WalletHub put out a list of the 100 best places in the U.S. for Fourth of July celebrations.  They considered things like public fanfare and fireworks . . . affordability . . .  activities . . . weather . . . and safety and accessibility.

This year, Las Vegas is #1.  New York City is next, followed by Orlando . . . Los Angeles . . . Minneapolis . . . St. Paul (wow, both “Twin Cities” back-to-back) . . . San Francisco . . . Atlanta . . . Seattle . . . and Sacramento.

Of the 100 cities they considered, Garland, Texas came in dead last. Laredo, Texas is the second-worst, followed by Newark, New Jersey . . . Hialeah, Florida . . . Baton Rouge, Louisiana . . . Cleveland . . . Jersey City . . . Irving, Texas . . . Fort Wayne, Indiana . . . and Corpus Christi, Texas.

Of course, you don’t NEED a flashy destination to celebrate Fourth of July. Just fire up the grill and invite people over.

But if you ARE looking to travel . . . and have the cash for gas or a last-minute flight . . . you can’t go wrong with the festivities in a lot of bigger cities, according to this list.

Except Cleveland.  It sounds like you can go wrong with that one.  Go Browns.
