Dolly Parton has officially been laid to rest with a private funeral with immediate family on Friday.  Her niece Lainey Parton confirmed the news with a tribute of photos with her “Aunt Granny“.

Quote, “This is a really hard post for me to make.  I wanted to wait until after my granny was laid to rest yesterday before I tried to put any of this into words…Because she couldn’t have kids of her own, she always made us feel like we were hers.  She loved us that way, and I’ll forever be grateful for that.”

Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum also shared her official obituary.

In other Dolly news, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee and Nashville International Airport announced Friday that they intend to rename the airport in her honor.

The Grand Ole Opry paid tribute to Dolly on Saturday with the entire night in her honor.  There were performances from Carly PearceJelly Roll, Dolly’s niece Jada Star, and Channing Wilson.

Of course, other country stars have been paying tribute to the legend over the weekend.

Brad Paisley performed “When I Get Where I’m Going”Vince Gill did a cover of “I Will Always Love You”Zach Top did “Here You Come Again” . Locally, on Saturday night at Songbirds, Judah & The Lion also performed “I Will Always Love You”.
