The Celebrity Beat…

“Anora” was the big winner at the Oscars, with five statues.

The movie won Best Picture, and Sean Baker won for writing, directing, and editing it.

And Mikey Madison won Best Actress, denying Demi Moore her first Oscar.  But “The Substance” did win Best Makeup and Hairstyling.

Adrien Brody won Best Actor for “The Brutalist”, and talked for more than five minutes.  He even made them cut the play-off music so he could keep talking.

Kieran Culkin won Best Supporting Actor for “A Real Pain”, and Zoe Saldaña won Best Supporting Actress for “Emilia Perez”.

Conan O’Brien was the host and a very funny but some might say controversial line he said was, quote, “Well, we’re halfway through the show.  Which means it’s time for Kendrick Lamar to come out and call Drake a pedophile.”

Conan also had a great entrance, by the way… he came out of Demi Moore’s back, a la “The Substance”.

You can see Conan’s full monologue here.  It features a guest appearance by someone you rarely see at the Oscars, Adam Sandler.

Another of the show’s highlights was Morgan Freeman’s tribute to the late Gene Hackman.

As usual, the In Memoriam segment left some people out.  This year’s snubs included Michelle TrachtenbergLinda LavinTony “Candyman” ToddShannen DohertyTony RobertsMartin Mull, and Olivia Hussey.
