On Monday's (December 12th) episode of the SmartLess podcast, Emily Blunt revealed that Tom Cruise told her to "stop being such a p—y" while the pair were filming Edge of Tomorrow. Blunt shared that she was struggling with her 85-pound costume, and Cruise "didn't know what to do."

"We had to wear these enormous suits, which I think would've been great if we had CGI'd them, but we wanted to do it in a tactile way," she said. "When you hear the word ‘tactile,' you think that sounds nice and cozy. There was nothing cozy about these suits. It was like 85 pounds. It was so heavy. The first time I put it on I started to cry, and Cruise didn't know what to do."

So, naturally, Cruise stared at her "for a long time," she said. "He goes, ‘Come on, stop being such a p—y, OK?'" Blunt added that this made her laugh.

As theaters prepare for the highly anticipated release of Avatar: The Way of Water on Friday (December 16th), the box office is quiet. Deadline reports that this past weekend became the second lowest this year, bringing in an estimated total of $38.3 million.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever held on to the number one spot with $11.1 million. The movie is on track to surpass Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' domestic run by next weekend.

The statement continued, "This distorted narrative was intended to trap the couple into silence. In fact, their statement announcing their decision to step back mentions nothing of privacy and reiterates their desire to continue their roles and public duties. OCTAVIA SPENCER AND WILL FERRELL SHUT DOWN HECKLER AT HER HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME CELEBRATION: According to The Los Angeles Times, a heckler tried to ruin Octavia Spencer's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony last week, but she and Will Ferrell told him to "keep it moving." As Ferrell took the podium to honor Spencer, the heckler screamed that it was "a beautiful day to celebrate rich people!" To this, Spencer swiftly replied, "Okay, honey. Not on my day, Satan!" Ferrell added, "Not on Octavia's day! Keep it moving. Keep it moving. The wax museum's down there. That thing is wide open." Eventually, the Anchorman actor was finally able to honor Spencer. LADY GAGA PERFORMS JENNA ORTEGA'S VIRAL ‘WEDNESDAY' DANCE: Lady Gaga is the latest celebrity to recreate Jenna Ortega's beloved dance scene from the Netflix series Wednesday. According to PopSugar, Ortega choreographed the moves herself and had COVID-19 when she filmed the scene. HELEN SLAYTON-HUGHES DIES AT 92: Deadline reports that Parks and Recreation actress Helen Slayton-Hughes passed away last week at the age of 92. Hughes played court stenographer Ethel Beavers on the show, and Aubrey Plaza took to social media Friday (December 9th) to honor her. "It was always Ethel Beavers. Always. Rest in Peace Helen. You were so loved and admired and I wanna be you when I grow up," she wrote. Slayton-Hughes also appeared on shows such as Nash Bridges, The Drew Carey Show, The West Wing, NYPD Blue, Arrested Development, and Fresh Off the Boat.

GARY FRIEDKIN DIES AT 70: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Happy Days and Star Wars actor Gary Friedkin passed away on Friday (December 9th) at the age of 70. He died due to COVID-19 complications at a hospice facility in Youngstown, Ohio. Friedkin made his acting debut in Under the Rainbow and appeared in films such as Young Doctors in Love and Mother's Day. "While Gary may have been short of stature, he was a giant amongst his family and friends," his family said.

Amber Riley says that Lea Michele would probably say she "doesn't see race."

The Glee alum recently appeared on Ziwe's self-titled series and clarified her 2020 comments that the Funny Girl star wasn't racist.

She clarified, "I think that she would probably say she doesn't see race, but as we discussed earlier, everyone does."

REESE WITHERSPOON RETURNS TO TRACY FLICK ROLE: Reese Witherspoon is reprising the role of Tracy Flick. Paramount Pictures announced Thursday (December 8th) that the Election star will return 23 years after the original film to star in Tracy Flick Can't Win. It is based on the Tom Perrota book by the same name.

Toni Collette and Dave Galafassi have called it quits after 20 years of marriage.

The former couple announced their breakup in a joint statement on The Staircase star's Instagram page Wednesday (December 7th).

Collette wrote, "It is with grace and gratitude that we announce we are divorcing. We're united in our decision and part with continuing respect and care for each other. Our kids are of paramount importance to us and we will continue to thrive as a family, albeit a different shape. The news comes after photos of Galafassi kissing another woman during a beach outing in Sydney were published by The Daily Mail.

According to Jennifer Lawrence, the biggest conversation surrounding her casting in The Hunger Games was "How much weight are you going to lose?"

She told Viola Davis for Variety's "Actors on Actors" series that she didn't feel comfortable losing weight to play a character from a book beloved by children.

Lawrence said, "Along with me being young and growing and not able to be on a diet, I don't know if I want all of the girls who are going to dress up as Katniss to feel like they can't because they're not a certain weight. And I can't let that seep into my brain either."

During their conversation, the Oscar winner declared that before the 2012 film, "nobody had ever put a woman in the lead of an action movie because it wouldn't work."

Five women are suing Bill Cosby, NBCUniversal, Carsey-Werner and Kaufman Astoria Studios under a New York law that temporarily lifts the statute of limitations on sexual assault claims.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the suit alleges that the companies facilitated sexual assault by "bestowing Bill Cosby with the power or the appearance of power at The Cosby Show." It also claims that they either knew or should have known that the comedian was "sexually abusing, assaulting, and/or battering women, including on their premises, but did nothing to stop it."

The allegations made by Lili Bernard, Eden Tirl, Jewel Gittens, and Jennifer Thompson date back to the late 1980s and early 1990s. Cindra Ladd says she met Cosby in 1969 and they were platonic friends until he drugged and raped her.

Cosby's spokesperson Andrew V. Wyatt sent The Hollywood Reporter a statement in response to the suit, which said the plaintiffs are unwilling to accept that Cosby "was vindicated by the Pennsylvania State Supreme Court almost a year and a half ago." He says, "As we have always stated, and now America can see, this isn't about justice for victims of alleged sexual assault, it's ALL ABOUT MONEY. We believe that the courts, as well as the court of public opinion, will follow the rules of law and relieve Mr. Cosby of these alleged accusations. Mr. Cosby continues to vehemently deny all allegation waged against him and looks forward to defending himself in court."

JULIE ANDREWS WILL NOT RETURN TO THE 'PRINCESS DIARIES': Julie Andrews doesn't expect to return for the third installment of the Princess Diaries. She told Access Hollywood Tuesday (December 6th), "It's probably not going to be possible at this point. It's how many years later and I'm that much older and Anne (Hathaway), the princess, now the queen, is so much older and I am not sure if it would float or run." 'YELLOWJACKETS' TO RETURN IN MARCH: Showtime announced Wednesday (December 7th) that Yellowjackets will return for Season 2 on March 24th, 2023. Lauren Ambrose and Simone Kessell will join the existing cast including Melanie Lynskey, Juliette Lewis, Tawny Cypress and Christina Ricci.

MARGOT ROBBIE WANTS HARLEY QUINN TO HOOK UP WITH POISON IVY: Margot Robbie wants her Harley Quinn character to hook up with Poison Ivy. She told ComicBook.com, "I have been pushing for that for years. I cannot tell you how hard I've been pushing for that."

Under New York's new look-back law, which passed last month, five women are suing Bill Cosby for sexual assault and abuse that occurred decades ago. Two of the women, Lili Bernard and Eden Tirl, are former actresses on The Cosby Show.

The 34-page lawsuit states, "Each plaintiff was sexually assaulted and battered by defendant Bill Cosby in the same or similar manner when he used his power, fame, and prestige, including the power, fame and prestige given to him by the defendants … to misuse his enormous power in such a nefarious, horrific way."

A spokesperson for Cosby has denied the allegations, calling the lawsuit "frivolous."

Hilary Duff is shedding light on how Hollywood affects women's relationships to their bodies. The How I Met Your Father actress got candid about a "horrifying" eating disorder she developed when she was 17 in a recent interview with Women's Health Australia.

"Because of my career path, I can't help but be like, 'I am on camera and actresses are skinny.' It was horrifying," she said, remembering how she felt early in her career.

Now, Duff feels like she has a healthier relationship with her body. These days, she said, "I'm appreciating my health, doing activities that make me feel strong instead of just bettering the outside of my body … Spending time with people that make me feel good and share similar views on health and body positivity and getting enough sleep and balance in my diet."

Margot Robbie knew how to make things happen on the set of her new film Babylon. The Bombshell actress told E! News Monday (December 5th) that her kiss with Brad Pitt in the new flick wasn't scripted.

"That wasn't in the script," she told the outlet. "But I thought, ‘When else am I gonna get the chance to kiss Brad Pitt? I'm just gonna go for it.'"

Robbie approached director Damien Chazelle with the suggestion. "I said, ‘Damien, I think Nellie would just go up and kiss Jack,'" she explained. Mindy Kaling doesn't think The Office would be well received if it debuted now. The Mindy Project actress appeared on Good Morning America recently and said the show is "so inappropriate now."

Kaling was a writer for the show and starred as Dunder Mifflin employee Kelly Kapoor. "The writers, who I'm still in touch with now, we always talk about how so much of that show we probably couldn't make now," she said.

She continued, "Tastes have changed, and honestly what offends people has changed so much now. I think that actually is one of the reasons the show is popular, because people feel like there's something kind of fearlessness about it or taboo that it talks about."

When asked what her character would be doing in a reboot of the series, she said, "I think she would have quit Dunder Mifflin to become an influencer, and then probably be canceled, almost immediately. Actually, most of the characters on that show would be canceled by now."

MILA KUNIS ‘CURLED UP BY' ASHTON KUTCHER'S SIDE DURING BATTLE WITH VASCULITIS: On a recent episode of The Checkup with Dr. David Agus, Ashton Kutcher commented on the rare form of vasculitis he was diagnosed with in 2019. "I woke up one day and was having vision issues, could hardly see. Knocked out my hearing, which threw off my equilibrium, my balance and I couldn't walk and I had vasculitis," he told Agus, who is his doctor. AMY ROBACH JOKES WITH REESE WITHERSPOON ABOUT ‘MORE PLOT LINES' FOR ‘THE MORNING SHOW' IN RESURFACED CLIP: After news of T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach's affair spread like wildfire, an interview that Robach did with Reese Witherspoon in early October resurfaced. Palmer addressed the comments via Twitter. "I just saw a few comments of ppl saying I was ugly cause I wasn't wearing any makeup. "So, I got a kidney transplant a couple years ago and as a way of coping, I thought I would name it.That's weird I know, but I did. Squid Game continues to be the streaming platform's most popular show of all time. Since Wednesday premiered in November, it has reached 752.52M hours viewed.

GUEST HOSTS FOR ‘THE DAILY SHOW' ARE ANNOUNCED: As The Daily Show prepares for Trevor Noah's exit on Thursday (December 8th), Comedy Central announced on Tuesday (December 6th) that a number of guest hosts are set to take his place when the show returns in January 17th. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the list includes Al Franken, Chelsea Handler, D.L. Hughley, Leslie Jones, John Leguizamo, Hasan Minhaj, Kal Penn, Sarah Silverman, Wanda Sykes, and Marlon Wayans. Paramount Media Networks CEO Chris McCarthy said in a statement, "As we enter Trevor's final week, we want to thank him for his many contributions. THERE WILL NOT BE A SEQUEL FOR ‘THE HOLIDAY:' Despite the rumors floating around that a sequel was in the works for the movie The Holiday, both Kate Winslet and the film's director, Nancy Meyers, have denied the claims. Meyers wrote on Instagram Tuesday (December 6th), "So many DM's about this - sorry but it's not true." Winslet told Entertainment Tonight, "I know, sadly it's not true." The Mare of Easttown actress added, "It would be so fun to see Mile and Iris get back together. I kind of imagine, like, how cute would their children be? …Tiny Jack Blacks running around everywhere."

AVA DUVERNAY BECOMES THE FIRST BLACK WOMAN FEATURED ON A PINT OF BEN & JERRY'S ICE CREAM: Selma director Ava DuVernay has become the first Black woman to appear on a pint of Ben & Jerry's ice cream. DuVernay shared the news on the Today show Tuesday (December 6th), adding that her favorite part is the name of the flavor. "It's 'Lights! Caramel! Action!'" she said. "I love that." The ice cream is a "mix of vanilla" with "salted caramel swirls, graham cracker swirls and gobs of chocolate chip cookie dough."

The wait is over … On Monday (December 5th) Netflix released the official trailer for Harry & Meghan, a six-episode docuseries about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The series will be released in two volumes: the first on December 8th and the second on December 15th.

In the trailer, Harry and Meghan comment on the trials and tribulations they experienced as part of the royal family. "There's a hierarchy of the family," Harry says. "You know, there's leaking, but there's also planting of stories. It's a dirty game."

Commenting on what Harry refers to as "the pain and suffering of women marrying into this institution," Meghan says, "I realized, they're never going to protect you."

Harry also shares that he "was terrified" and "didn't want history to repeat itself," thinking of his mother Princess Diana. "No one knows the full truth. We know the full truth," he adds.
