Matthew Perry opens up about his brush with death amid a serious opioid and alcohol addiction in is new memoir Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing.

He told the People that when his colon burst from opiod overuse in 2018, doctors told his family that he only had a two percent chance to live. The Friends star explained, "I was put on a thing called an ECMO machine, which does all the breathing for your heart and lungs. And that's called a Hail Mary. No one survives that."

Perry admitted that his therapist was able to inspire him to stay off drugs by reminding him that if he ever took Oxycontin again, he'd likely have to use a colostomy bag for the rest of his life.

The actor was already struggling with alcohol addiction when he was cast on the Friends at the age of 24. He recalled that he was only sober for Season 9 adding, "And guess which season I got nominated for best actor? I was like, ‘That should tell me something.'"

Although he tried to hide his struggles, his cast mates were aware "and they were patient." Perry said, ‘It's like penguins. Penguins in nature, when one is sick, or when one is very injured, the other penguins surround it and prop it up. They walk around it until that penguin can walk on its own. That's kind of what the cast did for me."

While Perry prefers not to disclose how long he's been sober, he says he still counts each day.

The Don't Worry Darling director appeared to lean into her ex-nanny's story by providing an excerpt from Ephron's autobiography, Heartburn on her Instagram Stories Tuesday (October 18th).

According to the text, the dressing is made by combining "2 tablespoons of Grey Poupon mustard with 2 tablespoons of good red wine vinegar. While whisking with a fork, you add 6 tablespoons of olive oil until the vinaigrette is creamy."

Ephron continued, "Word is, it's good for greens like arugula, watercress and endive."

Wilde and Jason Sudekis' former nanny recently told the Daily Mail that the Ted Lasso star threw himself under the back of Wilde's car because he was distraught over her preparing a salad with her "special dressing" for Harry Styles.

Following the release of the Daily Mail interview on Monday (October 17th) the estranged couple released a joint statement denying the nanny's claims, calling them "false and scurrilous."

The ten-episode season continues with two new episodes weekly leading up to the season finale on December 15th.

MEGHAN MARKLE ANY ACTRESS WHO PLAYS HER FINDS 'THE SOFTNESS:' Meghan Markle has instructions for any actresses that might play her on screen. The Duchess of Sussex told Variety, "I hope that in preparing for the role, she finds the softness, and the playfulness and the laughter. The silliness. I just hope she finds the dimensions. Also, she can call me!"

Kevin Spacey took the stand on Monday (October 17th) in his $40 million sexual assault trial, brought forth by Rent actor Anthony Rapp. In addition to denying Rapp's allegations that Spacey tried to seduce him when he was just 14, Spacey also said his initial apology to Rapp was a mistake.

When Rapp came forward with his allegations in a 2017 BuzzFeed article, Spacey claimed his publicists suggested he apologize. "I was being encouraged to apologize, and I've learned a lesson," he said, "which is, never apologize for something you didn't do."

At the time, the House of Cards actor wrote in a statement that he didn't remember the alleged encounter with Rapp. "But if I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior," he wrote.

Rapp testified last week that the incident with Spacey was "the single most traumatic event" in his life.

James Corden is now allowed back at the NYC restaurant Balthazar, after The Late Late Show host "apologized profusely" to the restaurant's owner, Keith McNally. On Monday (October 17th), McNally wrote on Instagram that Corden is "the most abusive customer to my Balthazar servers since the restaurant opened 25 years ago."

According to McNally, Corden was especially "nasty" to his staff when he found hair in his food and "a little bit of egg white mixed with the egg yolk" in his wife's egg yolk omelet. Regarding the hair, McNally wrote, "Although this is diabolical, it happens Very occasionally in all restaurants."

Upon finding the hair, Corden reportedly said, "Get us another round of drinks this second. And also take care of all of our drinks so far. This way I write any nasty reviews in yelp or anything like that." ' He also allegedly screamed at the server about the omelet: "You can't do your job! You can't do your job! Maybe I should go into the kitchen and cook the omelette myself!"

On Tuesday's (October 18th) episode of the Archetypes podcast, Meghan Markle spoke with Paris Hilton about the stereotype of "the bimbo," opening up about her time on the game show Deal or No Deal.

The Duchess of Sussex appeared as a briefcase model on the second season of the show, an experience that she is "grateful" for. However, Markle said that while she was on set, she would look back on her college internship at the U.S. Embassy in Argentina, where she was "valued specifically for my brain." ‘TWISTER' SEQUEL IS IN THE WORKS: According to Today, a sequel to the 1996 film Twister is in the works at Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment. Titled Twisters, the new movie follows the daughter of Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton's characters from the original film, as she chases storms like her parents. Universal did not comment on whether Hunt would be reprising her role. Paxton died at the age of 61 in 2017, due to complications from a heart surgery.

‘THE DAILY SHOW' CONSIDERS HAVING MORE THAN ONE HOST FOLLOWING TREVOR NOAH'S DEPARTURE: Deadline reports that Comedy Central is considering having two or three hosts for The Daily Show, as they look to replace Trevor Noah. Noah announced he was leaving the talk show in September. His last episode is scheduled for December 8th.

ANNA MAY WONG WILL BE THE FIRST ASIAN AMERICAN ON U.S. CURRENCY: Today reports that Anna May Wong, a trailblazing Chinese American actress during Hollywood's golden age, will make history as the first Asian American to be featured on U.S. currency. Wong's likeness will be featured on a new U.S. quarter, which is expected to begin shipping on October 24th.

JESSE WILLIAMS TO GUEST STAR ON 19TH SEASON OF ‘GREY'S ANATOMY:' Deadline reports that Jesse Williams will be making his way back to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital on the 19th season of Grey's Anatomy. Williams is set to guest star and direct the fifth episode on the new season, scheduled to air on November 3rd.

Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde's former nanny spoke to The Daily Mail recently, revealing some surprising details about the former couple's split. In one of the stories the nanny told, Sudeikis was so upset about Wilde leaving to meet Harry Styles one day, he threw himself under the back of her car.

Sudeikis was allegedly especially distraught over Wilde preparing a salad with her "special dressing" for Styles. "The night she left with her salad, Jason had chased after her, videotaping her in the house. She was saying: ‘I'm scared of you, Jason, I'm scared of you.' And he said: ‘If you're scared of me, why are you leaving your kids with me?'" the nanny said.

She continued, "So then, Jason went outside and lay under her car so she wouldn't leave. She got in her car to back up, he lay under her car so she wouldn't leave." The nanny added, "Out of everything, he was like, ‘She made her special salad dressing and took it to him.'"

JASON SUDEIKIS AND OLIVIA WILDE DENY FORMER NANNY'S ACCUSATIONS

Following the release of the Daily Mail interview on Monday (October 17th), People reports that Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde released a joint statement denying the nanny's claims, calling them "false and scurrilous."

"As parents, it is incredibly upsetting to learn that a former nanny of our two young children would choose to make such false and scurrilous accusations about us publicly," the statement said. "Her now 18 month long campaign of harassing us, as well as loved ones, close friends and colleagues, has reached its unfortunate apex."

The former couple added, "We will continue to focus on raising and protecting our children with the sincere hope that she will now choose to leave our family alone."

On Monday (October 17th), Ezra Miller pleaded not guilty to burglary and petit larceny charges in Vermont. The Flash actor faces up to 26 years in prison if convicted of both charges.

Miller allegedly broke into a private home in Stamford, Vermont, on May 1st and stole several bottles of alcohol while the homeowners were away. Vermont State Police charged Miller after collecting statements and reviewing surveillance footage.

The Fantastic Beasts actor has been embroiled in controversy since a video was released in 2020 showing them choking a woman at a bar in Iceland. In August of this year, they apologized in a statement and said they were "suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment."

Drew Barrymore is opening up about her love life. In a blog post published on Sunday (October 16th), the Never Been Kissed actress shared that she has "not been able to have an intimate relationship" since her divorce from Will Kopelman in 2016.

Barrymore and Kopelman share two daughters together, Olive and Frankie. Barrymore wrote that she is more "cautious" when it comes to relationships because of her daughters, highlighting that she wants them to be "empowered and to love themselves."

"I am just in a completely different place in my life and maybe in the near future I will get into a relationship… but it simply hasn't been my priority," she wrote. "So I'm not a person who needs sex and has to go out there and engage with people on that level."

The Scream actress added that she has "finally come to the epiphany that love and sex are simply not the same thing." All of this comes after Barrymore said on her show that she can go "years" without sex.

Wendy Williams might be getting into the restaurant business after her long-running talk show went off the air earlier this year. Good Day New York co-host Rosanna Scotto told Page Six that Williams might be opening her own restaurant.

Scotto has run Fresco by Scotto in New York City since 1993. "She loves the meatballs at Fresco," Scotto told Page Six. "And the last time I talked to her she's like, ‘OK, Rosanna, I am coming to Fresco and I want the meatballs and then you're going to help me open up my own restaurant.' And I'm like, ‘What, sister, you wanna take my people away to your restaurant?"

Scotto joked, "I don't know if she wants me to waitress or what, but she did tell me she wants to open her own restaurant and she wants me to help… If there is a restaurant from Wendy, it will be big competition but I love her."

On Sunday (October 16th), TV writer and producer Judnick Mayard wrote on Twitter, "your yearly reminder that i saw Bill Murray put both his hands into Solange's scalp after asking her three times if her hair was a wig or not." Mayard posted a follow-up tweet clarifying that Knowles' song "Don't Touch My Hair" was not written about the Groundhog Day actor. "since the tweet is going around just wanna clear it up: Don't Touch My Hair is not about Bill Murray. She had just finished performing that song on SNL when he did it. that's the audacity of whiteness," Mayard wrote. According to Entertainment Tonight, Knowles seems to have confirmed the accusation by liking Mayard's tweet.

"I'm working on my multi-series documentary on Colin Kaepernick for ESPN. It's his story, not the false narratives," Lee said. "Six years the National Football League has stopped him from playing. KEKE PALMER COMMENTS ON JOINING THE CAST OF ‘SISTER ACT 3:' According to Entertainment Tonight, Keke Palmer is on board to join Sister Act 3. After Whoopi Goldberg recently shared that she wanted Palmer, Lizzo, and Nicki Minaj to join the cast of the sequel, Palmer told the outlet, "Yes!" She also sang a few notes of "Joyful, Joyful." Robbie Coltrane, the Scottish actor who played Hagrid in the Harry Potter series, died on Friday (October 14th) at the age of 72. Coltrane's agent, Belinda Wright, said in a statement, "As well as being a wonderful actor, he was forensically intelligent and brilliantly witty, and after 40 years of being proud to be to called his agent, I shall miss him."

Along with Harry Potter, Coltrane starred in two James Bond films: GoldenEye and The World Is Not Enough. He also won three consecutive BAFTA best television actor awards for his work in the British series Cracker.

Many stars from the Harry Potter franchise took to social media to honor the late actor, including J.K. Rowling, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint.

Daniel Radcliffe said in a statement, "Robbie was one of the funniest people I've met and used to keep us laughing constantly as kids on the set. On a recent episode of the Good Mythical Morning YouTube show, Austin Powers actor Seth Green shared a shocking story about his experience with Bill Murray when the Groundhog Day actor was hosting Saturday Night Live.

"When I was nine years old," Green said, "I did a spot on ‘Saturday Night Live' when Mary Gross was one of the on-the-scene anchor people for the news, and she did a whole thing about what kids think about the Christmas holiday." The Buffy the Vampire Slayer actor said he was watching TV backstage when Murray approached him.

"Murray saw me sitting on the arm of this chair and made a big fuss about me being in his seat," Green said. "And I was like, ‘That is absurd. I am sitting on the arm of this couch. There are several lengths of this sofa. Kindly eff off.' And he was like, ‘That's my chair.'"

While Green's mom suggested he should move, Green resisted. "Are you this much of a jerk? This rude to tell a nine year old to get out of your chair. What is this power play?" he said.

Sydney Sweeney is setting the record straight about the comments she made in July about not being able to take a six-month break from work.

At the time, the Euphoria star told The Hollywood Reporter, "If I wanted to take a six-month break, I don't have income to cover that."

She recently clarified her comments in Elle, saying, "I was asked if I wanted to have a family and I said yes. And then I was asked why I didn't have one yet, and I was like, I don't have time to take even, like, a six-month break. Like, I don't have time to be able to start this family.
