Tom Holland is getting real about how social media affects his mental health. The Spider-Man: No Way Home actor posted a video to Instagram on Sunday (August 14th), sharing why he's decided to take a break from the platform.

"I have taken a break from social media for my mental health because I find Instagram and Twitter to be overstimulating, to be overwhelming," Holland said.

He continued, "I get caught up and I spiral when I read things about me online. And ultimately, it's very detrimental to my mental state so I decided to take a step back and delete the app."

The Uncharted actor said he returned to Instagram briefly to share this update and to promote the app stem4, which is a charity focused on mental health.

"The Brothers Trust is supporting this charity because we think it's a fantastic cause. There is an awful stigma against mental health and I know that asking for help and seeking help isn't something we should be ashamed of but it is something that is much easier said than done. So hopefully these apps can be your first steps towards being happier and healthier," Holland said.

TEDDY RAY REPORTEDLY DIED AS THE RESULT OF DROWNING: According to TMZ, comedian Teddy Ray died from an apparent drowning. The Riverside County Sheriff's Office told the outlet that they responded to a call at approximately 10 a.m. on Friday (August 12th), after a maintenance worker found a man floating in the swimming pool at a private residence in Rancho Mirage, California. Ray was 32 years old.

BRYCE DALLAS HOWARD SAYS SHE WAS PAID ‘SO MUCH LESS' THAN CHRIS PRATT FOR ‘JURASSIC WORLD' MOVIES: Bryce Dallas Howard has commented on the reports stating that she was paid less than Chris Pratt for her work on the Jurassic World franchise. "The reports were so interesting because I was paid so much less than the reports even said, so much less. When I started negotiating for 'Jurassic,' it was 2014, and it was a different world, and I was at a great disadvantage. And, unfortunately, you have to sign up for three movies, and so your deals are set," she told Insider recently.

JENNIFER COOLIDGE SAYS ‘BEND AND SNAP' IS ‘MISLEADING:' In a recent interview with Deadline, White Lotus star Jennifer Coolidge commented on one of her most famous scenes from Legally Blonde. "The ‘bend and snap' is a moment in moviemaking I would just totally disagree with. I've never had bending over work for me like it did in that movie. I think that the bend and snap is misleading. ACADEMY APOLOGIZES TO SACHEEN LITTLEFEATHER FOR 1973 OSCARS INCIDENT: Variety reports that the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures has issued a formal apology to Sacheen Littlefeather, who took the stage at the 1973 Oscars to decline the award for best actor on behalf of Marlon Brando. At the time, the audience booed Littlefeather, performed racist gestures such as "tomahawk chops," and threatened her with violence offstage. 50 years later, the Academy is apologizing for what she experienced that night—while also planning to host "An Evening with Sacheen Littlefeather" on Sept. 17th. The apology to Littlefeather reads in part, "As you stood on the Oscars stage in 1973 to not accept the Oscar on behalf of Marlon Brando, in recognition of the misrepresentation and mistreatment of Native American people by the film industry, you made a powerful statement that continues to remind us of the necessity of respect and the importance of human dignity. JOHNNY DEPP TO DIRECT HIS FIRST FILM IN 25 YEARS: Johnny Depp has picked up another big project on the heels of his defamation trial—and it will mark his first time directing a film in 25 years. The Pirates of the Caribbean star is set to direct Modigliani, a biopic about Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani. Depp told The Hollywood Reporter, "The saga of Mr. Modigliani's life is one that I'm incredibly honored, and truly humbled, to bring to the screen. It was a life of great hardship, but eventual triumph — a universally human story all viewers can identify with."

VIOLA DAVIS JOINS THE CAST OF ‘THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS AND SNAKES:' Deadline reports that Viola Davis is the next big name to join the cast of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. The How to Get Away with Murder star is set to play Head Gamemaker Volumnia Gaul in the Hunger Games prequel.

KENYA BARRIS WILL REIMAGINE ‘THE WIZARD OF OZ' FOR WARNER BROS.: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Black-ish creator Kenya Barris will be remaking The Wizard of Oz for Warner Bros. Barris is also set to produce the movie through his production banner, Khalabo Ink Society.

Anne Heche was removed from life support on Sunday (August 14th), after organ recipient matches were found for the Six Days Seven Nights actress.

Heche suffered "a severe anoxic brain injury" after crashing her car into a Los Angeles home last week. She was declared brain dead on Friday (August 12th) but remained on life support in anticipation of donating her organs.

Her rep said at the time, "While Anne is legally dead according to California law, her heart is still beating, and she has not been taken off life support so that One Legacy can see if she is a match for organ donation."

Many people paid their respects for Heche on social media over the weekend, following the news of her death. Her son, Homer, said in a statement to People, "My brother Atlas and I lost our Mom. After six days of almost unbelievable emotional swings, I am left with a deep, wordless sadness. Hopefully my mom is free from pain and beginning to explore what I like to imagine as her eternal freedom."

A forensic report obtained by ABC News on Friday (August 12th) showed that the gun involved in the fatal Rust shooting could not have fired without someone pulling the trigger.

The report states that with the hammer cocked, the .45 colt caliber F.lli Pietta single-action revolver "could not be made to fire without a pull of the trigger while the working internal components were intact and functional."

Alec Baldwin shot Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins while holding this gun—but he told ABC's George Stephanopoulos in December that he didn't pull the trigger. "The trigger wasn't pulled," Baldwin said. "I didn't pull the trigger."

Stephanopoulos replied, "So you never pulled the trigger?," to which Baldwin said, "No, no, no. I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger at them, never."

In a cover story for Cosmopolitan, Tiffany Haddish revealed that she spent her entire Girls Trip check on paying off her house. The Night School actress added that she suffers from "broke PTSD."

While people told her to spend the money differently, she told the publication that she "was always afraid of being homeless again." The comedian shared, "Now I have a surplus of money, but I'm still afraid of being poor again."

Her goal was to create generational wealth through owning property. "I just knew I was going to have to always make enough money to take care of me and the house, and that's what I did," she said.

Bullet Train held on to the top spot at the domestic box office during its second weekend, pulling in $13.4 million. The film saw a 55% decline from a week ago. Deadline reports that this past weekend was the slowest yet this summer, with the box office seeing just $66.8 million for all movies.

During its second week of streaming on Netflix, Purple Hearts has been watched more than 100 million hours. Despite the film's popularity, it's facing backlash for featuring misogynistic and racist characters. In one scene, a Marine makes a toast and says, "This one is to life, love and hunting down some goddamn Arabs, baby!"

Director Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum responded to the criticism. "I hope that people understand that in order for characters to grow, they need to be flawed in the beginning. So we very much intentionally created two characters that had been bred to hate each other," she said.

Star and executive producer of the movie Sofia Carson commented, "Why I fell in love with the movie is that it's a love story but it's so much more than that. It's two hearts, one red, one blue, two worlds apart, who are really raised to hate each other. Through the power of love, they learn to lead with empathy and compassion and love each other and turn into this beautiful shade of purple. We wanted to represent both sides as accurately as possible."

Carson added, "What I think I've learned to do as an artist is separate myself from all of that and just listen to what the world is feeling and reacting to with the film."

JUSTIN SYLVESTER CLARIFIES WHAT WAS HAPPENING IN VIRAL VIDEO WITH JENNA BUSH: After a video started circulating showing Daily Pop host Justin Sylvester pushing away Today host Jennifer Bush during a cooking segment on the Today show, fans started commenting saying Bush was invading Sylvester's personal space. However, Sylvester explained that the video was taken out of context. In a video posted to Instagram, Sylvester said, "Some people thought that she was invading my space, and that's actually not true." What was really going on is that he was "flirting with the chef," and pushed her away so that he "could have a one-on-one moment with the chef." He added, "When I tell you that girl is one of the nicest, most welcoming people I've ever met."

DENISE DOWSE DIES AT 64: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Insecure actress Denise Dowse has died at the age of 64. Her sister Tracey Dowse announced the news on Denise's official Instagram page Saturday (August 13th), calling her "the most amazing sister, a consummate, illustrious actress, mentor and director. She was my very best friend and final family member." On August 7th, Tracey shared on Instagram that her younger sister was hospitalized due to a "virulent form of meningitis." Denise was known for her roles as Vice Principal Yvonne Teasley on 90210, Judge Rebecca Damsen on The Guardian, and therapist Rhonda Pine on Insecure. She also held roles in the films Ray and Coach Carter.

ROBYN GRIGGS DIES AT 49: Page Six reports that soap opera star Robyn Griggs passed away recently at the age of 49. The news was announced on her official Facebook page Saturday (August 13th). "Hi everyone, With a heavy heart, I am saddened to announce Robyn's passing. However, she is no longer suffering and would want us to remember that and the good memories.I will never forget how open she was to telling her story, and accepting of me helping her tell it. She wanted to help people and spread the word of her story to do it. I was honored to do so.RIP my friend, I love you and smile when I think of you," the post read. Griggs was best known for her work on Another World and One Life to Live. She opened up about her stage 4 cervical cancer diagnosis in 2020, and last month she shared that she had four new tumors.

TEDDY RAY DIES AT 32: According to People, comedian and actor Teddy Ray, who was known for his recent appearance on HBO Max's Pause with Sam Jay, has died at the age of 32. Authorities received notice of a death at a private residence in Rancho Mirage, California, at approximately 10 a.m. Friday (August 12th). Ray's cause of death is not yet known.

WARNER BROS. DISCOVERY ISSUES STATEMENT CONDEMNING THREAT AGAINST J.K. ROWLING: Following the attack on author Salman Rushdie last week, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling tweeted, "Feeling very sick right now. Let him be ok." A Twitter user responded with a threat that Rowling would be next. "Don't worry you are next," the user wrote. On Sunday (August 14th), Warner Bros. Discovery released a statement condemning this threat: "Warner Bros. Discovery strongly condemns the threats made against J.K. Rowling. We stand with her and all the authors, storytellers and creators who bravely express their creativity and opinions. WBD believes in freedom of expression, peaceful discourse and supporting those who offer their views in the public arena. Our thoughts are with Sir Salman Rushdie and his family following the senseless act of violence in New York. Anne Heche "is not expected to survive" the catastrophic brain injury she suffered during last week's car crash.

A rep for the Emmy-winning actress told People Thursday (August 11th), "Unfortunately, due to her accident, Anne suffered a severe anoxic brain injury and remains in a coma, in critical condition and on full life support.

"She is not expected to survive."

The statement continued, "It has long been her choice to donate her organs and she's being kept on life support to determine if any are viable."

Heche never regained consciousness after crashing into a Los Angeles home in a firey wreck that took place last Friday (August 5th).

LAPD sources told TMZ Thursday (August 11th) that the actress had cocaine and fentanyl in her system at the time of the accident.

Angelina Jolie's 17-year-old daughter, Zahara is officially a college freshman.

The Maleficent star dropped her daughter off at Spelman College Thursday (August 11th). Photos posted on Instagram by the school's Vice President of Student Affairs show the actress discussing the milestone moment.

ABC TO AIR 'RODGERS & HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA': ABC will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella with a 20/20 news special cast reunion and a presentation of the original film. Cinderella: The Reunion, A Special Edition of 20/20, airs on ABC-TV on Tuesday, Aug. 23rd stating at 8 PM ET/PT and will stream the next day on Hulu. LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA ADDRSSES UNAUTHORIZED VERSION OF 'HAMILTON': Lin-Manuel Miranda has spoken out about the unauthorized, "Christianized" version of his musical, Hamilton. SPECTRUM ORIGINALS TO SHUT DOWN: Deadline reports that Spectrum Originals which produced series like L.A.'s Finest and the Mad About You revival for Spectrum cable subscribers is shutting down. The move leaves several current series in limbo including Joe Pickett and Beacon 23.

LAUREN AMBROSE JOINS 'YELLOWJACKETS': According to Deadline, Lauren Ambrose has been cast as the adult version of Vanessa "Van" Palmer for the second season of Yellowjackets. The Six Feet Under alum's teen counterpart was played in Season 1 by Liv Hewson, who has been upped to a series regular for Season 2.

KATE MCKINNON WAS HOPING TO MAKE OUT WITH 'SNL' COSTARS IN LAST EPISODE: Kate McKinnon recently told Vulture's Good Ones podcast that she was hoping to make out with all of her co-stars before she departed Saturday Night Live. Millie Bobby Brown is finally opening up about comments that TikToker Hunter Ecimovic made about ‘grooming" the actress prior to their alleged relationship.

Olivia Wilde has legally filed to dismiss the custody petition she received at CinemaCon in April.

According to court documents obtained by the Daily Mail, the actress accused her ex, Jason Sudekis, of intentionally trying to "embarrass me professionally," by having her served with papers while she was onstage during the Las Vegas event.

Anne Heche is under investigation for felony DUI in connection with Friday's (August 5th) California car crash.

The LAPD told TMZ Wednesday (Aug. 10th) that the investigation has been upped to a felony because the woman inside the home Heche hit with her Mini Cooper claims she was injured.

Officers believe the actress was driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol because shew as driving recklessly and appeared to have a bottle of alcohol in a cup holder.

The former Men In Trees star has been in a coma since the crash.

Michael K. Williams reveals the origin of his famous scar in the upcoming posthumous memoir, Scenes From My Life.

According to People, The Wire star was enjoying a successful modeling and dancing career in 1991 when he was sliced across the face right before his 25th birthday.

Williams was leaving a club when he encountered a man that had been harassing an acquaintance earlier in the evening.

He writes, "In a flash, he smacked me across the face. I put my hand to my forehead. Then I saw the dark liquid on my fingers. The guy hadn't been slapping me. He had been cutting me open."

ANDGUS CLOUD SCARRED BY FALL INTO CONSTRUCTION PIT: Angus Cloud revealed to Wednesday (Aug. 10th) that he nearly died after breaking his skull as a teen. The Euphoria star told Variety that the scar that runs alongside the left side of his scalp resulted from a fall into a construction pit on Friday the 13th, 2013. He explained, "I woke up 12 hours later at the bottom. I was trapped." Cloud says he eventually climbed out, despite his cracked skull and broken fingers. His mother took him to the children's hospital where they scewed a metal plate into his skull and "sealed him back up, and that was that."

STEVE MARTIN MAY BE NEARING RETIREMENT: Only Murders In The Building may be Steve Martin's last acting job. The 76-year-old told The Hollywood Reporter Tuesday (Aug. 9th), "When this television show is done, I'm not going to seek others. I'm not going to seek other movies. I don't want to do cameos. This is, weirdly, it." However he backtracked a bit, adding, "I'm really not interested in retiring. I'm not. I would just like to work a little less. Maybe."

JENNIFER LOPEZ AND BEN AFFLECK TO MOVE INTO HER BEL AIR ESTATE: Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have finally decided on a place to live. Sources close to Bennifer told TMZ Wednesday (Aug. 10th) that they've decided to move into Bel-Air home. Even though Lopez has owned the property since 2016, they won't call the eight-acre estate home for another year as the seven-bedroom, 13-bathroom house is undergoing an extensive remodel.

'HOUSE OF HAMMER' TRAILER DROPS: The House of Hammer trailer dropped Wednesday (August 10th), and the preview shows two of Armie Hammer's accusers discussing their experiences with the Social Network star. Courtney Vucekovich and Julia Morrison both appear in the clip, in which they describe being wooed by the actor before he opened up about his "mad" sexual desires. House of Hammer premieres Sept. 2nd on Discovery+.

WARNER BROS. MOVIES NO LONGER GAURANTEED TO STREAM ON HBO MAX: Vulture reports that Warner Bros. movies are no longer guaranteed to stream on HBO Max after 45 days. Instead, Warner will evaluate its release strategy on a "case-by-case basis."

JON HAMM JOINS 'THE MORNING SHOW': Jon Hamm is joining The Morning Show. Apple TV+ announced Wednesday (Aug. 10th) that the Mad Men star will play Paul Marks, "a corporate titan" in the drama's forthcoming third season, which will begin filming later this month.

ALEC BALDWIN JOINS SPY THRILLER: Alec Baldwin has booked his next movie gig. Deadline announced Wednesday (August 10th) that the actor joins Olga Kurylenko for the spy action thriller Chief of Station. In the film, Baldwin plays a former CIA Station Chief who is forced back into the espionage world after learning that the death of his wife was not an accident.

On Tuesday (August 9th), The Hollywood Reporter published an exposé on the accusations against Fred Savage from the set of The Wonder Years reboot. A group of unnamed women came forward to detail the inappropriate conduct allegations against him, which include verbal harassment, alleged assault, and "manipulative and erratic" behavior.

Several crewmembers recalled a "strangeness" surrounding Savage's relationship with a much younger woman who worked on the crew. This woman declined to be interviewed by The Hollywood Reporter, but the others say she moved into Savage's Atlanta home during filming. They also say he bought her gifts, discussed the future with her, and was "extremely controlling of her daily behaviors."

Another woman in her early 30s said Savage approached her with "just like, dead eyes" at a bar where the crew was partying one night and pushed her against a bathroom wall, despite her objections. "He put his mouth on mine very forcefully. He went for the top of my pants. I brushed him away. Then he put his mouth on mine again, grabbed my hand and pulled it on his groin area. I was pulling back. He stopped very angrily. I shoulder checked him so I could get out," she said.

"I was honestly scared of him for the first time," she added, sharing that he later apologized to her for being "a huge a**h***."

Savage responded to these allegations in a statement that read: "Since I was 6 years old, I have worked on hundreds of sets with thousands of people, and have always strived to contribute to an inclusive, safe and supportive work environment. It is devastating to learn that there are co-workers who feel I have fallen short of these goals."

He continued, "While there are some incidents being reported that absolutely did not and could not have happened, any one person who feels hurt or offended by my actions is one person too many. I will work to address and change any behavior that has negatively affected anyone, as nothing in this world is more important to me than being a supportive co-worker, friend, husband, father and person."

Richard Glass, the owner of Glass Hair Design in Venice, California, told The Los Angeles Times Monday (August 8th) that Anne Heche visited his salon shortly before she crashed her car into a Mar Vista home. Glass said that she wasn't "speaking in cursive" during her visit—meaning she didn't seem intoxicated at the time.

The salon owner described Heche as "very pleasant," and shared that she expressed interest in a blue wig. When he let her know that particular wig wasn't available, she said she'd take a red one instead.

Glass didn't register who Heche was until he went to ring her up. After recognizing her, the pair took a number of selfies together. Glass posted one to Instagram on Friday (August 5th), the day the accident took place.
