The Wendy Williams Show Is Replaced By Sherri

After guest hosting The Wendy Williams Show in lieu of Wendy Williams due to her ongoing health issues, Sherri Shepherd has landed her own talk show. Sherri will debut in the fall, filling the timeslot for The Wendy Williams Show, which is officially ending after 13 seasons.

Williams’ rep, Howard Bragman, commented on the news. “It's been a challenging time for Wendy as she deals with her health issues. She is incredibly grateful to Debmar-Mercury, to Sherri and everybody else who has supported the show through this time.”

He continued, “She, more than anyone, understands the reality of syndicated television — you can't go to the marketplace and sell a show that's the 'Maybe Wendy Show.' She understands why this decision was made from a business point of view, and she has been assured by Debmar-Mercury that should her health get to a point where she can host again and should her desire be that she hosts again that she would be back on TV at that time."

Shepherd celebrated the news in a statement: "OMG! I am so excited to have my dream come true and debut my very own talk show SHERRI in the fall. I can't wait until I return to NY to host the show and merge everything I love … pop culture, talk, entertainment and comedy. I am thankful to Debmar-Mercury and FOX for partnering with me on this show and look forward to this new journey.”

Following Bragman’s comments, the newly launched WendyWilliamsOfficial Instagram account posted a story that read, "Mr. Bragman although I appreciate your concerns and respect you immensely I have not authorized you to make any statements on my behalf regarding my current status with Debmar Mercury. Again thanks for your continuing concern and support."

In response to this, Bragman told People, "I'm not honestly convinced of the source of that social media post, so when my old friend Wendy FaceTimes me personally and we alone have a chance to discuss recent events, together we can figure out the best path forward.”

Kerry Washington Poses As Rosa Parks In Black 'Herstory' Tribute

In honor of Black History Month, Scandal star Kerry Washington is celebrating “BlackHERstory” with a commemorative post for the late Rosa Parks.

Washington posted a photo of herself recreating Parks’ 1955 mugshot, which she featured alongside the original photo on Instagram Monday (February 21st).

She captioned the post, “A lot of people think that Rosa’s activism started with her refusing to give up her seat on the bus. But she lived a life of activism long before that. Fighting, boycotting, marching, and even working as an investigator for the NAACP, advocating against sexual assaults on Black women.”

She continued, “It was Rosa Park’s act of civil disobedience on that bus that sparked a revolution. She took that seat in order to take a stand. That seat on the bus was her fighting stance - and so we continue the fight today, in whatever way we can! Lets ask ourselves, what can we do! Sit. Stand. March. Make calls. Volunteer. Talk to your family and friends. Do whatever you can and however you can. Rosa taught us that. And we are forever grateful. It was an honor to honor her.”

Last week, Washington posted another “BlackHERstory” tribute for Black athlete Wilma Rudoph, who took home three gold medals from the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960.

Idris Elba Plans To 'Lean Away' From Acting To Focus On Music

Idris Elba has music on his mind. The Luther actor told Vanity Fair recently that he’s planning to “lean away from the acting work" to put effort into making music.

"Some may think, 'Well, it will be the death of your acting if your music's s---.' I've dealt with the internal struggle of that over the years. So now I'm at peace and I've chosen: This is what I'm doing, and I'm going to do it. Some will love it and some will hate it," he said.

Elba didn’t just play a deejay on Netflix’s Turn Up Charlie series, he actually performed as one at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s royal wedding reception in 2018 and at Coachella in 2019.

"I've worked my whole life to play at Coachella. I made it at 46! I nearly passed out when I found out," he said at the time.

Elba previously told People that he’s loved music since he was just four years old, saying that he was "mesmerized by the turntable going around and around."

Commenting on the decision to take a break from acting in order to achieve his music-making goals, Elba said, "The thing about making music is it's a very consuming process. It's very difficult to shoot a movie and then go off into the studio or make a song. It's like trying to build a soufflé while making a brick wall."

Rosie O'Donnell Apologizes To Priyanka Chopra For Thinking Deepak Chopra Was Her Father

Rosie O’Donnell had her foot in her mouth after seeing Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas at Nobu in Malibu, California, over the weekend. O’Donnell took to TikTok on Monday (February 21st) to share her blunder, which she said embarrassed her son, his girlfriend, and Fran Drescher.

"So I said, 'Hi, Nick Jonas, you were great in Kingdom' and, 'Hi, I know your dad,'" O’Donnell said to Priyanka. "She goes, 'You do? Who's my dad?' And I go, 'Deepak.' She goes, 'No, and Chopra is a common name.'" Chopra’s father, Ashok Chopra, died in 2013.

Some users took issue with the way O’Donnell told this story, as she hadn’t yet learned Priyanka’s name. "'Someone Chopra' and 'the Chopra wife' sound worse to me than the mistake. I mean, the device for making TikToks also has Google," one user wrote. Another commented, “Her name is Priyanka."

In a follow-up video, O’Donnell apologized to Priyanka, adding that the Matrix: Resurrections actress “wasn't rude,” but that the interaction “was just awkward."

"Anyway, Priyanka is her name. Priyanka — I hope I'm pronouncing that right. I just want to apologize to her and to everyone who thought that it was really inappropriate of me. Sorry, sometimes I f--- up. I did at Nobu," O’Donnell said.

Scarlett Johansson Releases Her New Skincare Line

Scarlett Johansson’s new skincare line, The Outset, is set to launch on March 1st. The Black Widow actress announced in July 2021 that she would be stepping away from beauty deals to focus on her own line of products.

“I’ve been the face of several luxury brands throughout my career and all of those experiences were really wonderful. But — how do I put this? I guess I always felt like I was sort of playing a character in those campaigns and as I evolved, I wanted to create and represent a brand that was true to me,” Johansson said in the March 2022 issue of Vogue.

After Johansson and her business partner, Kate Foster, created the brand’s Instagram, Johansson’s husband, Colin Jost, trolled the page.

On a side-profile photo of Johansson captioned “THE START OF YOU,” the Saturday Night Live comedian wrote, “Is this the best way to contact you? I’m starting a similar brand called ‘Part of a Face’ and would love to use this photo. Thanks.”

Fans laughed at Jost’s joke, but many also expressed excitement for the upcoming line, which boasts a “return to the essential” and “fostering new beginnings for people and planet.”

Tom Cruise's Former Manager Says He Had A 'Terrible Temper'

Berlin recalled the time that he allegedly lashed out at her after she gave him a gift. "I presented him with an album with all his publicity articles from teen magazines. He screamed, ‘I don't want to be in the teen mags.'"

In December 2020, a recording from the set of Mission: Impossible 7 made its way to the press, during which Cruise yelled at the crew for not following COVID-19 safety protocols.

"I'm on the phone with every f***ing studio at night, insurance companies, producers and they're looking at us and using us to make their movies. We are creating thousands of jobs, you motherf******. I don't ever want to see it again. Ever!" he ranted.

Minka Kelly Opens Up About A Proposed Nude Scene On The Set Of Euphoria

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Minka Kelly revealed that she didn't feel "comfortable" with a nude scene proposed by Euphoria creator Sam Levinson during her first day on set.

The scene she referred to appears in the second episode of the second season of the show, when her character Samantha asks Maddie, played by Alexa Demie, to unzip her dress. Kelly said that, in an earlier version of the script, "Levinson thought it would be more interesting if my dress fell to the ground."

Kelly then offered Levinson an alternative route. "I said, ‘I'd love to do this scene, but I think we can keep my dress on,' He was like, ‘Okay!' He didn't even hesitate. And he shot a beautiful scene and got exactly what he wanted."

These comments come after Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney told The Independent that she spoke up about unnecessary nude scenes in the show as well. "There are moments where Cassie was supposed to be shirtless and I would tell Sam, ‘I don't really think that's necessary here.' He was like, ‘OK, we don't need it,'" Sweeney said.

Santa Fe D.A. Says Alec Baldwin May Not Have Pulled The Trigger In Fatal Rust Shooting

Following a lawsuit filed by the family of late cinematographer Halyna Hutchins regarding the fatal Rust shooting, Santa Fe D.A. Mary Carmack-Altwies has commented on an important aspect of the case.

Last week, one of the Hutchins' lawyers, Brian Panish, said, "I think it's clear what happened. Alec Baldwin had the gun in his hand, he shot it -- Halyna was killed. The gun cannot fire unless the trigger is engaged and the hammer is back." However, Carmack-Altwies recently told Vanity Fair that it is possible that Baldwin didn't pull the trigger.

"You can pull the hammer back without actually pulling the trigger and without actually locking it. So you pull it back partway, it doesn't lock, and then if you let it go, the firing pin can hit the primer of the bullet," Carmack-Altwies said, after she had investigators perform tests to experiment with the mechanics.

In an interview with ABC in December, Alec Baldwin claimed he "would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger at them, never."
