In The Know with Gino…

The Chattanooga Parks and Outdoors Department is calling on community members to join their team of dedicated volunteers and help plant trees in various parks throughout the city in January. Whether you’re a nature lover, a green thumb, or simply looking for a way to get involved in your community, this is the perfect opportunity to make a difference.

No experience is necessary to participate, as instructions, tools, and gloves will be provided. Volunteers will have the chance to meet like-minded individuals, learn new skills, and contribute to the upkeep of over 80 parks that comprise more than 800 acres of public space.

The Chattanooga Park Stewards Program is a collaborative effort between the City of Chattanooga and its community members to maintain and improve the city’s parks, playgrounds, walking trails, and greenspaces. With over 600 dedicated volunteers already on board, there’s still room for more individuals who want to make a difference.
