In an exciting development for the Chattanooga Zoo, they have welcomed their first red panda cub in eight years. Named Pilatus, the cub is the first offspring of parents Saffron and Avi.
Avi was the last red panda born at the zoo, making this birth a significant milestone. Visitors can currently see Saffron carrying her cub, but experts expect Pilatus to begin independently roaming the exhibit by the fall.
The zoo is thrilled with this addition, which supports their efforts in conserving this endangered species.
