Did Taylor Swift Make a Mistake by Scheduling Early Screenings of Her Movie?

Chattanooga, Tennessee—(Wise Brother)
The demand was so huge for “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour”, that the decision was made to hold preview screenings last night . . . a day before the movie was scheduled to open. And it might have been a mistake.
Multiple sources say theaters were NOT happy with having to prepare for potential mass demand with so little advance notice.
The irony is, the demand probably wasn’t all that great. Due to the last-minute call for the advance screenings, theaters were reporting weak crowds.
A theater in Burbank said some of its Thursday shows had sold FOUR TO 12 SEATS. Taylor wants people standing, singing, and having a ball at these shows like they’re at an actual concert.
But that vibe probably won’t be achieved with four people in the room. It sounds like last night’s take might be a little weak, especially for a movie that’s already sold more than $100 million in advance tickets for the weekend.
Maybe Taylor and her team should have thought this through a little better.
(Or not. This is probably just going to be a minor hiccup. The movie was already doing fantastic business before it even hit screens. It’ll be huge no matter what.) (Yahoo!)
As for details on the movie itself, filming took place in August during three shows at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California for her record-breaking Eras Tour. If it matters to any concerned parents, Taylor’s concert film is rated PG-13.
(AMC Theatres are selling exclusive popcorn tins, tubs, and collectible cups while supplies last. And Swifties are encouraged to wear their Eras outfits and friendship bracelets. Here’s the trailer.)
