Disney+’s New Password Sharing Policies

Disney+ is implementing stricter measures against password sharing, which could affect users’ streaming experiences. As of this week, subscribers can add one additional user to their accounts for a fee: $6.99 per month for Disney+ Basic and $9.99 for Disney+ Premium. This option aims to manage sharing while generating additional revenue for the platform.

Additionally, Disney+ will increase subscription prices next month, although specific amounts have yet to be announced. The service will also have the capability to detect access from outside the subscriber’s household. Users trying to share passwords may need to enter a one-time password to verify their identity.

The era of password-free sharing is nearing an end. Subscribers will need to decide whether to pay for the extra member option or consider alternative streaming services amid these changes.
