Drive & Discover Bridgeport, Alabama

Bridgeport & Stevenson Alabama
Bridgeport is such a wonderful small city with a big heart and a lot of history. There is so much history in our City in the early 1880’s investors came here from New York and started building up the City which was known as the “Little New York” when businesses were booming and they were using the ferry. Also, there was a railroad bridge over the Tennessee River completed in 1854 that today we have a “Walking Bridge” where people can enjoy the view. There was also the Siege of Bridgeport which was part of the American Civil War on April 23, 1862. There were reenactments of the battle of Siege of Bridgeport that used to be held here annually and were also used in the Hollywood movie Sweet Home Alabama. So much more history and also a beautiful little City along with Queen – Anne-style houses that are still here today.
