When Dunkin’ dropped the “Donuts” from its name seven years ago, it wasn’t because they were abandoning donuts… it was that they’d evolved to be more than just donuts.  But now, some stores DON’T have donuts.

Dunkin’ locations in several states including Nebraska and New Mexico, haven’t had any donuts dating back to last week, because they’re dealing with a “temporary supply shortage.”

Those stores had signs up saying that the shortage was due to a, quote, “manufacturing error.”  There aren’t any specifics but it sounds like one of their suppliers dropped the ball and they didn’t have a back-up plan.

Apparently, about 4% of Dunkin’ locations were impacted and they’re expecting the stock to be replenished this week.
