Ellen DeGeneres Wants You to Know She’s Not Mean

Ellen DeGeneres is in the middle of her Ellen’s Last Stand…Up comedy tour, and she has a message for her audience.  And for all of us, really:  She’s NOT mean.

During a gig Tuesday night in Santa Rosa, California, she said, quote, “Let me catch you up on what’s been going on with me since you last saw me.  I got chickens.  Oh yeah, and I got kicked out of show business for being mean…”

She says she used to say, “I don’t care what people say about me.’  Now I realize I said that during the height of my popularity.”

She added, quote, “I am many things, but I am not mean.”

On another note, Ellen has canceled shows in Dallas, Seattle, and Chicago, but there’s no word why.
