Have you already bought your Halloween candy? And are you already regretting it?
A new poll by CVS found the average family that stocks up on candy early will eat their way through the entire stash…not once, but TWICE before they make it to Halloween.
One in four said they’ve even had years where they had to restock THREE times or more. So, waiting another week or two might be a good call.
55% said they usually have to run out and buy more candy at the last second no matter what.
Here are a few more random Halloween stats from the poll…
1. 62% consider themselves to be “Halloween people.” 43% say they usually go “all out” for it.
2. When asked what makes Halloween “special,” the top responses were “candy,” “costumes,” “fall atmosphere,” and “spooky vibes.”
3. The average person will spend just under 5 hours and 30 minutes pulling their costume together. Hair and make-up take the longest.
4. 43% will have to run out last-minute to grab some finishing touches for their costume.
5. Half of people who decorate their house think they’ve got the best decorations on their block.
6. Not everyone is handing out candy. 40% of people with trick-or-treaters plan to have non-food items on hand, at least as a backup for kids with allergies. According to the poll, fidget toys, friendship bracelets, and small stuffed animals are all popular choices this year.
