Florida Man Charged With Armed Robbery After Nude Heist At Meat Market
Kobe Latrey Watkins of Lake City was arrested December 23 and charged with armed robbery, exposure of sexual organs, grand theft and criminal mischief following a bizarre incident at BJ’s Meat Market. Police responded to robbery reports at 8:50 p.m. and found the 25-year-old Watkins had allegedly broken into a cash box and stolen more than $1,000. Store employees told officers the suspect was completely nude except for a face covering and carried an object they believed was a weapon. Officers quickly established a perimeter and located Watkins nearby. He was taken to a hospital for medical evaluation before being booked into Columbia County jail. “Incidents like this are unsettling, but our officers responded quickly, secured the scene, and worked with our partners to identify and arrest the suspect,” Lake City police Chief Gerald Butler said.
