George Floyd’s Family Is Suing Kanye West For ‘Drink Champs’ Comments

The mother of George Floyd‘s daughter has sued Kanye West for $250 million following the comments he made about Floyd during an episode of Drink Champs. According to TMZ, Floyd’s family issued a cease-and-desist letter to West — who claimed that Floyd died as a result of fentanyl use and that he was not strangled by a cop.
In a press statement, Roxie Washington, the mother of Gianna Floyd, said that Kanye made “false statements about George Floyd’s death to promote his brands, and increase marketing value and revenue for himself, his business partners, and associates.”
Washington continued, saying that West stated “malicious falsehoods” about Floyd in order to profit from his death and the family’s trauma.
Attorney Nuru Witherspoon, partner at The Witherspoon Law Group added, “The interests of the child are priority. George Floyd’s daughter is being traumatized by Kanye West’s comments and he’s creating an unsafe and unhealthy environment for her.”
West’s Drink Champs interview has been removed from YouTube and Revolt TV.
