Hilary Duff‘s husband, Matthew Koma, made a playful joke with her ex, Joel Madden, in a birthday post on Instagram honoring Madden.

Koma, who is on friendly terms with the Good Charlotte singer, posted a picture of himself with the Madden and also shared a pic of Madden and Duff.

In the photo of Madden and Duff, Koma wrote, “It’s not even that weird that you dated my wife @joelmadden. It just makes me feel closer to you.”
