Chattanooga fast food enthusiasts will need to keep their cravings on hold, as In-N-Out Burger has clarified its plans for the area. Recent reports had suggested that the California-based chain was eyeing two or three potential locations in Chattanooga as part of its ongoing expansion across the Southeast. However, the company now states there are no concrete plans in the works.

In response to a query from our newsroom, In-N-Out’s Vice President of Store Development emphasized that while the company hopes to serve the Chattanooga community someday, it is not actively working on any specific sites in the city at this time.

To clarify, we hope to serve the Chattanooga community one day. However, we are not working on any specific locations there just yet,” the company said in an official statement.

The clarification comes after the Memphis Journal reported that In-N-Out was considering Chattanooga among several southeastern markets as part of its broader expansion efforts. Over recent years, the beloved West Coast chain has steadily moved eastward, opening stores in Texas and Tennessee, which has fueled speculation about future locations.

For now, burger fans in Chattanooga will have to wait—or make the approximately 150-mile drive to one of three existing In-N-Out locations in middle Tennessee.

As In-N-Out continues its strategic growth, residents of Chattanooga will be watching closely for any signs of a future arrival.
