Is Eddie Munson Coming Back in Stranger Things?

We finally know if Joseph Quinn’s fan-favorite “Stranger Things” character, Eddie Munson, will return in the upcoming final season.

Co-creator Matt Duffer says, quote, “I love that Joe Quinn is toying with people!  But no, he’s dead.   Joe is so busy anyway, that everyone should know he’s not coming back.  He’s shot like five movies since! When the hell has he got time to come and shoot ‘Stranger Things’?  No, sadly, RIP.  He’s fully under that ground.”

Fans were pretty devastated when Eddie sacrificed himself at the end of Season 4.  But hey, at least it was after shredding his guitar to Metallica’s “Master of Puppets” in the Upside Down.

Joseph had been teasing fans with a potential return.  He said back in June of 2024 that “chances were high” for an Eddie comeback.  Was he lying, or is Duffer the one messing with us?

The first four episodes of the fifth and final season premiere on November 26th on Netflix.
