Kentucky Man Arrested For Stealing Ex-Girlfriend’s Car While She Was Giving Birth

Christopher Mollette of Martin County, Kentucky faces auto theft charges after taking his ex-girlfriend’s vehicle while she delivered their child at a Pikeville hospital Friday. Police say Mollette arrived to witness the birth but was asked to wait in the car’s passenger seat due to hospital visitation rules. Security footage revealed Mollette exited the passenger side, moved to the driver’s seat, and drove away with the vehicle. When his ex-girlfriend called asking about her car’s location, Mollette reportedly told her “it was none of her business where her vehicle was” before ending the call. Authorities arrested Mollette on Saturday and charged him with auto theft.
