Hey Brock,
I’m in a really tricky situation of my own making but I really need your advice. Here’s what’s going on: I’ve been casually dating a girl for about six months now. We agreed from the start that it was an open relationship, no strings attached. It’s been fun, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with her, but we’re not exclusive.
A couple of months ago, I met another girl at a party. She’s amazing—intelligent, gorgeous, and we have this incredible chemistry. We hit it off immediately and started seeing each other regularly. Things got serious quickly, and now she’s under the impression that we’re in an exclusive relationship. I haven’t had the heart to tell her about the other girl I’m seeing because I don’t want to lose her.
To make matters even more complicated, the two girls have mutual friends and have started to hang out in the same social circles. I’m terrified that they’ll find out about each other, and everything will blow up in my face. The girl I’ve been casually dating is starting to want more commitment, and the girl I’m more serious about has been talking about introducing me to her family.
I feel like I’m walking on eggshells, constantly worrying about being caught. I care about both of them in different ways, but I know I need to make a decision before it all comes crashing down. How do I handle this without hurting them more than I already have? Should I come clean and face the consequences, or is there a way to navigate this mess and come out relatively unscathed?
I’m really struggling with this and would appreciate any advice you can give.
