In an era where journalism is facing numerous challenges, NOOGAtoday, a local news outlet under the 6AM City umbrella, has launched its annual reader support campaign to sustain its mission of delivering positive, impactful local news to the Chattanooga community.

Led by a dedicated team of writers, account managers, sales executives, graphic designers, tech support specialists, growth marketers, managing editors, and more, NOOGAtoday aims to engage communities by curating the most positive local news and events into a free, daily email newsletter.

We get hundreds of thank you emails every week, and we couldn’t be more grateful that we impact your lives. Several of you have asked how you can support us, and we thought now would be as good a time as ever to introduce a new way for you to say, ‘thank you,'” expressed Kristen Templeton and Haley Bartlett, the local City Editors of NOOGAtoday.

The campaign, with a goal to raise $9,000 over the next 10 days, offers readers an opportunity to contribute to the sustainability of local reporting. This initiative comes as NOOGAtoday reiterates its commitment to maintaining readers’ trust, particularly in an election year.

It’s an election year, and we’re committed to maintaining our readers’ trust. Fun fact: We’ve turned down more than a million dollars in political ads since we first started — we’re that serious about our brand promise,” stated Ryan Johnston, the company co-founder, and CEO.

NOOGAtoday prides itself on providing unbiased and stress-free morning news coverage, focusing on stories that bring communities together rather than driving them apart. Erin McPherson, the VP of Editorial, emphasized the outlet’s approach: “Because we intentionally do not cover political news — but we do cover outcomes and decided-upon policies — we are better positioned to serve our readers news that actually impacts their daily lives, their experience in their cities, and their ability to inform, engage with, and participate in what’s happening around them.”

Throughout 2024, NOOGAtoday has delivered over 344 events and 656 news stories to the people of Chattanooga, all accessible for FREE. The outlet highlights local businesses, non-profits, city programs, and events, enriching the lives of its subscribers.

Our goal is to make a positive impact on our readers’ lives. Whether it’s discovering life-changing events or staying informed about local developments, we’re honored to be a part of their daily routine,” said the NOOGAtoday team.

In addition to providing valuable news coverage, NOOGAtoday prioritizes its employees’ well-being, offering perks such as unlimited PTO, wi-fi coverage, parental stipends, and 401K contributions.

As NOOGAtoday navigates the challenges of modern media, including fluctuations in advertising revenue, the reader support campaign plays a crucial role in sustaining the outlet’s operations and ensuring the continuation of free access to its content.

For those who love what we do and have benefited from our product, we invite you to support local journalism by contributing to our campaign. Your investment will empower our team to continue delivering positive, impactful news to the Chattanooga community,” urged the NOOGAtoday team.

With the support of its readers, NOOGAtoday remains committed to its mission of informing, engaging, and enriching the lives of Chattanooga residents through accessible, unbiased local journalism.
