The Celebrity Beat…
As usual, people have been spending the days after the Oscars complaining about who got left out of the In Memoriam segment.
Here are the names that are being tossed around:
James Van Der Beek
Eric Dane
Malcolm-Jamal Warner
Robert Carradine from “Revenge of the Nerds” and “Lizzie Maguire”
Brigitte Bardot
June Lockhart from “Lassie” and “Lost in Space”
“Harold and Maude” star Bud Cort
George Wendt
Julian McMahon
“M*A*S*H*” star Loretta Swit
Loni Anderson
Samantha Eggar from “All My Children” and the original “Doctor Dolittle”
To be fair, a lot of these stars were better known for their TV work, and will probably make the In Memoriam segment at the Emmys. But that’s not until September.
Robert Carradine’s omission feels kind of egregious, especially since his death is so fresh. I wonder if it’s because his biggest claim to fame, “Revenge of the Nerds“.
