“Reacher” Star Alan Ritchson Was On American Idol?
Before he was knocking out neighbors and bad guys, Alan Ritchson auditioned for American Idol!
A resurfaced clip of his Season 3 audition in 2004 is making the rounds online. And you have to see how giddy Paula Abdul is around him. In the clip, Simon Cowell tells him, quote, “Sorry, Alan, can I just say before you start, thank you for putting a little smile on Paula’s face. God bless you for that.”
Alan performed Stevie Wonder’s “You Are the Sunshine of My Life” just for Paula. Simon and Randy Jackson purposely left the room so they could be alone. Paula later described Alan as, quote, “totally hot.” She added, quote, “I’m a professional, and it didn’t sway my decision . . . much.”
Alan did pass his audition, but he got cut during the Hollywood group round.
