In The Know with Gino…

The Songbirds Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to promoting music education and community engagement, is pleased to announce the appointment of John Dooley as its new Executive Director. Dooley, a veteran of the organization with eight years of experience, assumes the reins from outgoing Executive Director Reed Caldwell, who stepped down in November after years of leadership.

We are thrilled to have John at the helm,” said a spokesperson for the Songbirds Foundation. “His deep understanding of our mission and passion for music education make him the ideal candidate to lead our organization forward.”

Under Dooley’s leadership, the Songbirds Foundation is poised to revitalize its venue on Main Street, nurturing the thriving music hub in Chattanooga’s Southside neighborhood. The foundation is also committed to expanding its music education programs, serving youth from elementary school through college. These programs aim to foster the next generation of musicians and music enthusiasts, making a lasting impact on the community and local music economy.

The organization’s vision for the new year is ambitious: to create a world where music education inspires leadership, creativity, and confidence.

Through transformative programming, connections with exceptional educators, and empowerment of students, the Songbirds Foundation seeks to cultivate the tastemakers and trailblazers of tomorrow’s music industry. Its venue will become the region’s premier listening room and event space, welcoming communities to celebrate the magic of music in an inclusive and vibrant setting.

I am deeply honored to take on this new role and continue the incredible work of the Songbirds Foundation,” said Dooley. “Together, we will build on our strong foundation, ensuring that music remains a vibrant and unifying force in Chattanooga and beyond.”

As the Songbirds Foundation embarks on this new chapter, it invites the community to join in supporting its mission and celebrating the transformative power of music. Stay tuned for updates on exciting initiatives and events planned for 2025.
