Taylor Swift’s “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” came out today. But fans will be quick to notice that she changed a “controversial” line on “Better Than Revenge”. Someone posted the change yesterday.
The original lyrics from 2010 are, quote, “She’s not a saint and she’s not what you think, she’s an actress, whoa . . . She’s better known for the things that she does, on the mattress, whoa.”
She got rid of the second part of that verse and replaced it with, quote, “He was a moth to the flame, she was holding the matches, whoa.”
The song was allegedly written about Camilla Belle, when she dated Taylor’s ex Joe Jonas right after they broke up.
Fans have a mixed reaction. One says, quote, “This is why I love her. She almost always does the right thing, we don’t encourage slut shaming over here.”
But another says, quote, “We miss brutal Taylor where she hated everyone but ‘Lover’ era Taylor assassinated her.”
