The 10 Most Dangerous States to Be in for the Holidays
A new study ranked the most DANGEROUS states to be in for Christmas. They based it on 10 different metrics, like fires, crime rates, injury rates, and how slick the roads are this time of year.
Here are the 10 most dangerous Christmas states, along with the biggest risk factor for each one.
1. Vermont. It ranks first for a few reasons, but driving conditions are a big one. The chances of a white Christmas are basically 100%.
2. Wisconsin. The top risk factor is DRINKING RATES. It means more injuries, and more drunk drivers.
3. Oregon. Just a lot of serious car crashes in general.
4. Colorado. One of the metrics was injury-related google searches. It ranked high in that one.
5. North Dakota. It ranked high in fires, crime, and drinking.
6. New Mexico. High rate of accidental deaths.
7. Montana. Serious car crashes.
8. Maine. Structure fires.
9. Connecticut. Car crashes again.
10. Idaho. It ranked fairly high across the board.
According to the stats, Mississippi is the SAFEST state to be in for the holidays. Then it’s Utah, Texas, and Virginia. Maryland and Georgia tied for fifth.
