The Celebrity Beat…

The 2024 Emmy nominees were announced yesterday, and “The Bear” set a record for most nominations for a comedy series, with 23.  “30 Rock” held the previous record, with 22.

Speaking of records, the legendary Carol Burnett became the oldest woman to get an acting nomination, for “Palm Royale”.  She’s 91.

Ryan Gosling got his first Emmy nod for hosting the episode of “Saturday Night Live” that featured the now-infamous “Beavis and Butthead” sketch.

Kelsey Grammer did NOT get nominated for the “Frasier” revival, even though the original was an Emmy darling and “Real Time with Bill Maher” got passed over this year. For other snubs and surprises click here.
