In The Know with Gino…

The Chattery, a beloved nonprofit dedicated to lifelong learning, is seeking volunteers to assist in cleaning up debris from a recent fire that damaged their building. The cleanup event is scheduled for Saturday, August 24th, and will take place in two shifts: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Volunteers must be 18 years or older to participate and will be required to sign a waiver upon arrival. Given the nature of the work, participants are asked to wear old clothing, including long-sleeved shirts, pants, and closed-toed shoes. The cleanup will involve physical labor, including carrying items to dumpsters, so volunteers should be prepared for some heavy lifting.

Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided to all volunteers, but those who have their own PPE are encouraged to bring it. This is an important opportunity for community members to come together and help The Chattery begin the rebuilding process after this unfortunate event.

If you’re interested in volunteering, you can sign up here. Your help will play a vital role in restoring this valuable community resource.
