Watch Out For These Words When Booking Your Next Vacation

Summer is here and most of us are looking for a great place to go for vacation. As you are making your vacation rental plans, be on the lookout for certain words and phrases that could be potential red flags for your vacation plans.
1. “Secluded.” It probably means that the property is far enough away from other people that you can turn the volume up without disturbing anyone. But how far is that, exactly? It could mean the place is also far from grocery stores, a gas station, or a hospital.
2. “Secure.” When hosts include the words “safe” and “secure” in the listing, it could be a clue that the home isn’t in the best area.
3. “Rustic.” It can mean different things to different people, so it’s a good idea to go through the reviews and photos carefully to make sure the place at least meets your minimum standards.
4. “Eclectic.” Like “rustic,” “eclectic” exists on a spectrum and can mean different things to different people. So it’s another one you’ll want to take a close look at the pictures and reviews. And if you have any doubt, don’t hesitate to reach out to the host directly to ask questions.
